Ground breaking for WOHNGARTEN

With the groundbreaking ceremony for its first residential project, the Vienna-based real estate company INVESTER United Benefits opened a new chapter in its history, marking the start of the company’s commitment to setting new standards for residential assets.

A cutting-edge residential complex including 682 privately financed rental apartments is being built on the site, which covers a total of 18,000 square meters in Simmering’s Geiselbergstrasse. The project, which offers 35,000 square meter usable floor space, follows the example of the traditional Viennese concept of the residential housing courtyard (Wohnhof) and will include five buildings. This is currently the largest residential project carried out by a single property developer in Vienna. As the name of the building project implies, special emphasis is placed on blending modern, urban living with a wide range of natural and green areas on site. The 3,500 square meter inner courtyard with its lush vegetation will be the heart of the WOHNGARTEN project. The project is architecturally unique in that it conserves and integrates the historical brick façade of a chocolate factory originally located on this site. This allows for an unmistakable front view of the residential complex from the street, impressively blending tradition and modernity. The project will be constructed by the PORR AG; the architectural concept is master-planned by architects SOYKA/SILBER/SOYKA. Herbert Prohaska was the guest of honor at the groundbreaking ceremony – the football legend and icon entertained guests with his personal recollections about Simmering.

“The WOHNGARTEN project will create a landmark for urban living in the up-and-coming Simmering district. Not only is the project close to our heart, it is also the current largest rental apartment project in Vienna. By 2021, we will have created modern living space for up to 1,500 people”, said Michael Klement, CEO of INVESTER, at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Erwin Krause, spokesperson for the property owners, added: “The WOHNGARTEN project represents a milestone in our company’s history and marks the beginning of the first large construction project in the residential asset class. Furthermore, this is also the beginning of additional residential projects that we are planning to realize in Vienna in the coming months. Our focus moving forward will continue to be on urban and modern living. Our aim is to provide modern living space to broad sections of the population.”

Flexible and individual: family apartments, single apartments and loft apartments

The WOHNGARTEN project will be located at Geiselbergstrasse 28 and has been designed as a green residential oasis in the midst of an urban neighborhood, offering the residents enough space to relax and meet people. The apartments will offer between one room and three rooms and measure from 30 to 70 square meters. As well as being in line with the latest standards, the apartments combine space efficient floor plans with a feeling of modern living. Two types of apartments are available in order to meet residents’ individual needs. The modern style apartments will be equipped with a balcony, a terrace or a small garden on the ground floor. One peculiarity of the project’s noteworthy features are the loft apartments located in the front part of the of the former chocolate factory building. With a ceiling height of almost four meters and dimensions of 50 square meters, these apartments provide a sense of sophisticated living. The staircases can be reached centrally via the inner courtyard. Recreation rooms will be made available as meeting spaces in each of the five building units to add to the project’s social living character. In addition, bike storage, laundry rooms, play rooms for children, fitness rooms and music rooms will be available. An underground car park with 287 parking spaces under the residential complex will be accessible from each residential unit.

Centrally located retreat for young and old

Far away from everyday stress and urban hustle and bustle and only a few minutes away from Vienna’s vibrant city center: the location is characterized by its ideal traffic connections and its proximity to the city center. The U3 subway route is just a few minute’s walk away and arrives at Stephansplatz in 10 minutes. The tram station for route 6 is right on your doorstep, the S-Bahn routes S1 and S7 stop at Vienna Geiselbergstrasse railway station. Parks and green areas, such as the Löwygrube or the Herder Park, are all within walking distance and provide a variety of sports and recreation opportunities, especially for families and children.

INREV welcomes Ursula Federsel as a new member of the Public Affairs Commitee

INREV is the European Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles with the goal to improve transparency, professionalism and best practices across the sector.

Goal of the commitee is to guide the development and implementation of a public affairs programme that ensures European regulators and policy makers are aware of the contribution and importance of non-listed real estate investment to economic growth and job creation in Europe.

Committee members are selected on the basis of their knowledge of the non-listed real estate industry and European regulations and policy initiatives impacting it; this expertise enables INREV to educate and inform its members as well as European policy makers, as they develop proposed regulations that could impact the non-listed real estate funds industry.

3rd rank at the CBRE OOTY Award 2018

Since its inception in 2015, the Office of the Year Award is one of the most valuable awards in today’s working world. The award was founded by the nationally, as well as internationally leading real estate specialist in Austria, CBRE. Out of five categories, the best offices in Austria are being awarded. From July to November, the companies presented their offices, followed by the judgment of the jury from December to January. Early March, the best offices were awarded at the Office of the Year Gala.

62 companies made an application in five different categories to promote their office or co-working space for the Office of the Year Award. Each company presented its office with pictures, videos and descriptions. Then, a jury of eight assessed the office by six criterias: Design & Ergonomics, Flexibility, Wellness & Healthy Office, Innovation & Technology, Inspiration & Creativity and Corporate Identity & Representation. In order to get an authentic idea of the concepts, the jury visited the companies that applied in their offices.
